You chose to homeschool because you know your child best, whether that meant more flexibility, a different learning environment, or an approach that fits your family. That takes real thought and effort, and you're the person who understands your child better than anyone.

Some areas can be challenging to teach at home without specialized training or resources: structured literacy instruction for a student with dyslexia, multisensory math support when a curriculum isn't clicking, writing instruction that goes beyond completing assignments, or a small group setting where students can learn alongside peers with similar needs.

That is where we can help.

How We Work with Homeschool Families

We work alongside your existing homeschool approach rather than replacing it. Many homeschool families come to us for one or two specific areas where specialized instruction makes a meaningful difference.

We begin by understanding your child's needs, building a plan, and providing targeted instruction. You stay involved and informed while continuing to lead the rest of your child's education.

We keep you updated along the way through session notes in TutorBird and ongoing communication, with a more detailed written progress report available on request.

We understand the flexibility homeschool families need. Sessions are available during school hours as well as afternoons and evenings. In-person sessions take place in Colorado Springs, and online sessions are available to families anywhere.

A diagnosis is not required to get started. If you are seeing something in your child that concerns you and you want to understand it better, a free consultation is the right first step.

What We Offer

One-on-One Reading, Spelling and Writing

Build accurate reading, fluent decoding, confident spelling, and stronger written expression through explicit, individualized instruction. Our EBLI-certified tutors use structured literacy approaches grounded in the Science of Reading to support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.

All grade levels

One-on-One Math

Develop strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and mathematical confidence through hands-on, multisensory instruction. We use the CRA approach with Montessori and Stern Math materials to help students build deeper understanding, not just memorize procedures. Support is available for students with dyscalculia and other math learning differences.

All grade levels through algebra and beyond.

Small Group Programs

Small groups let students learn through discussion and shared practice, alongside explicit, structured instruction.

Root to Word offers spelling and vocabulary instruction for grades 3–12, helping students understand word structure through morphology, roots, prefixes, and suffixes.

PRS Writing Studio provides structured composition instruction using the thinkSRSD framework to help students develop planning, organization, and writing skills.

Scheduling

One of the advantages of working with homeschool families is scheduling flexibility. We can often accommodate daytime sessions that are not available to school families, and many homeschool families like scheduling sessions during the school day, when students are fresh and appointments are easier to fit into the week. If you have a curriculum that runs certain days, we will work around it. Tell us your availability in the consultation and we will find something that fits.

You don't have to teach everything yourself.

When specialized instruction is needed, we're here to help.
