Executive Function
At Peak Reading Solutions, we provide executive function coaching that gives students concrete, personalized systems for managing their academic life. We help students build homework routines, break large assignments into manageable steps, create organizational systems that actually stick, and develop the self-monitoring skills that allow them to catch and correct their own errors.
Executive function skills — the ability to plan, organize, initiate, and follow through on tasks — are the hidden engine behind academic success. When these skills are weak, even a bright, capable student can fall behind, miss deadlines, lose materials, and feel overwhelmed by assignments that their peers complete easily.
Executive function difficulties are particularly common in students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and twice-exceptional profiles. Often, these students are using so much cognitive energy to manage reading or math that there is little left for planning and self-regulation.
We do not teach one-size-fits-all strategies. We work with each student to find the approaches that fit their brain, their schedule, and their school environment.
Sessions are available in Colorado Springs and online.
